In partnership with Colorado Department of Human Services, Behavioral Health Administration, Lokiten Behavioral Health proudly introduces the “Frontline Future” initiative, a unique scholarship program designed specifically for
honorably discharged veterans of the U.S. Military. This initiative is our commitment to those who have served our country and are now ready to serve in the field of mental
health.

  • $200,000 in tuition funding
  • Up to $50,000 per candidate
  • No concurrent state or federal
    funding may be used.
  • Exclusively for tuition costs and
    cannot be used for loan
    repayment.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Honorably discharged Veteran from any U.S. Military branch.
  • Pursuing a graduate or professional degree in a mental health field such as: PsyD, PhD,
    MSW, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or Psychiatry (MD, DO, PMNHP).
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA maintained throughout the program.
  • Willing to undergo a panel interview, complete a questionnaire & background check, and submit a detailed personal statement.

Application Process

  • Submit proof of military service (DD-214) and academic transcript.
  • Include a detailed personal statement (1-3 pages) discussing the influence of military service on their
    interest in mental health, long-term career aspirations and commitment to Veteran advocacy.
  • Deadline: Rolling 2024

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

    No. However, your program must begin/occur sometime in 2024 and you will need to provide valid proof of acceptance into an accredited mental health program before funding is awarded.

    No. Awardees will receive one time funding for up to $50,000 pending their tuition needs.

    Recipients will be expected to intern/volunteer with Lokiten Behavioral Health during the course of their program. How many hours per week will be discussed during your interview and mutually agreed upon before being awarded. Following graduation, employment opportunities with company will be granted on a case by case basis. While there are no formal obligations following your studies, recipients are encouraged to become part of our active alumni network that offers various opportunities for engagement and networking.

    This is a rolling selection process for 2024. Our staff will be reviewing applications continuously and requesting interviews for selected candidates every 4-6 weeks. We ask for your patience during this period.

    No. Recipients must be enrolled in a full time program.

    If a recipient is unable to finished their program, we advise them to notify us immediately. The implications or obligations will depend on the specific circumstances and terms of their situation.

    Selection criteria will include military service record, academic achievements, career goals in mental health, and potential contribution to the field.
